When it comes to children, Bollywood does go out of its way. So Neetu Chandra drove all the way from her home in the burbs to Breach Candy to shake a leg with children from a spastic school who were performing at Fusion Bollywood’s 4th annual function.
Fusion Bollywood, founded by Ruchita Mehta, promotes dance as a form of fitness. As the name suggests, it’s a fusion of Indian traditional and semi-classical, hip-hop and jazz and a tadka of Bollywood music. And there’s kickboxing too, for flexibility and stamina! Guests for the evening, Rosa Catalano and Rahul Dev, both kickboxing experts, spoke on the importance of fitness. It indeed was heartwarming to see Fusion Bollywood encourage these disabled children to perform and join in the fun.
