Maxim India, unveiled its Hot 100 List for 2010 last night at a city hotel. So how important is it to be rated ‘hot’. Says Sonam Kapoor who took the No 1 spot, “It’s really important to me. I like the words ‘hot’ and ‘sexy.’ It’s fun and at the same time, speaks about your sensuality,
passion and depth.”

“The list tries to encompass the parameters of newsworthiness, reader reactions to their appearance, letters from subscribers, magazine sales figures and informal polls. It has girls who have inspired men with their hotness and stood the test of swinging appreciation and mindsets,” said Vivek Pareek, editor, Maxim magazine.

Says Deepika Padukone (No 8), “Though it’s not something that I pay much attention to, it does feel good to be appreciated by men from all over. It’s nice to get all that attention!” Says Bipasha Basu, last year’s winner and No 4 this year, “Ever since I've been in the industry, the term ‘hot’ just stuck, I guess. But it still makes me feel so good about myself when things like this happen. The industry today has so many beautiful women, each one with their own brand of sex appeal. They are all hot in their own way.”
