“We Love you Rani… Rani You Rock… Rani… You’re the best, Rani… Welcome to Toronto, Rani…. Aaahhh!!!!!!!!!! We can’t believe you’re here!!!”. These were the slogans being chanted in awe of Rani in Toronto, where fans went Hadippa over the Queen B of Bollywood. Rani attended the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) for the World Premiere of Yash Raj Films latest release ‘Dil Bole Hadippa’ on 13th September. The film stars Shahid Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee, being produced by Aditya Chopra and directed by debutant Anurag Singh. Rani attended the festival along with Anurag where the film had its first screening to an audience of almost 2000 people, who embraced the color, the energy and the spirit of the film. Rani strutted the red carpet in Hollywood style, giving the sari a miss and dolling herself up in a pink couture dress, she looked elegant and sexy. In keeping with the film’s colorful and musical theme, Yash Raj Films ensured that that the film left its mark on the Red Carpet as 20 Bhangra Dancers did the Hadippa to the tunes of the local Dholi’s of Toronto while Rani and Anurag spent almost an hour meeting, signing autographs taking pictures with overjoyed fans. Cameron Baily Co Director of TIFF says “We are not looking for Indian cinema that mimics the European and North American films. We look for films that reflect an Indian sensibility in their filmmaking” while an ecstatic Anurag Singh says “It’s nothing short of a life changing experience to be invited to such a prestigious festival for your first film”. Rani Mukherjee says “Hadippa is a film to be enjoyed with your family while having your popcorn and cola, and dancing on the seats all at the same time… it’s a film that reinforces the belief that if you have a dream and the desire… you will go to any length to achieve it”. Well, ‘Dil Bole Hadippa’ is already creating waves not only in India but worldwide and fans are just waiting for their own share of Hadippa at their earnest.
